MIND THE GAP

Embarrassed by a lack of teeth?

Can’t eat the food that you love?

Feel like your smile is incomplete?

Dental implants are here to help.

A Dental implant is a way to replace your missing tooth. It is a titanium alloy screw that goes gently into your jaw to provide a screw point. The new screw point can be used to give you a new tooth, multiple new teeth, or even a brand new full set of teeth

Various Configurations for all scenarios

Single implant crown

Single tooth implant to replace one single missing tooth

Multiple implant bridge

Two implants to replace a series of missing teeth

Full arch implant bridge

A full set of teeth fixed on 4 implants, which cannot be removed

Implant overdenture

A full set of teeth that clip onto 2 implants but can be removed

Why choose a dental implant

  • Natural-looking solution. The titanium post replaces the lost tooth, so it looks like a tooth when it is completed

  • Fixed and long-lasting as long as they are looked after

  • Prevent loss of bone, which if left unchecked can change the way your face looks, making you look older

  • Enjoy your favourite foods as they are strong and allow you to enjoy foods you would otherwise avoid

  • They don’t affect your remaining healthy teeth

The Process

Step 1 consult

The first step towards achieving a stunning smile is to have a chat with us about dental implants. We understand that each person's dental journey is unique, which is why we take the time to discuss all of your options with you. During your consultation, we will carefully listen to your goals, review your medical history, and provide you with an estimated cost. Additionally, we welcome any questions you may have about the treatment. Let's work together to make your dental implant experience amazing!

Step 2 Planning

Once you've had your initial consultation and decided to proceed, we'll conduct a comprehensive clinical assessment that includes a CBCT x-ray to assess your bone density, as well as photos and scans. Using this information, we'll create a personalized treatment plan that we'll send to you in a detailed report format, along with the final cost. Our report will provide you with a clear understanding of the treatment process and reasoning behind it, ensuring that you are fully informed and confident in your decision. We strive to make your experience amazing and exceed your expectations every step of the way.

Step 3 Surgery

When you're prepared to receive the implant, we'll schedule a surgical placement procedure for you. Before we start we give you a painkiller and antibiotic which has been scientifically shown to reduce the pain you experience after the procedure. The process involves using local anaesthesia, although we can also provide sedation if you feel anxious. We'll make an incision in your gum and create a hole in your bone, which we'll fill with the implant. Once the procedure is complete, we'll use stitches to cover the implant.

Step 4 restore

After the implant is placed, it is typical to wait for a period of four to eight months for it to completely fuse with your jawbone. Once the healing process is complete, your permanent replacement tooth or teeth can be installed. This includes attaching the abutment, a small post that supports the false tooth, to the top of the implant. Additionally, custom-made crowns are fitted to match the size, shape, and color of the teeth they are replacing.

Step 5 Maintain

After receiving your treatment, we will provide you with all the necessary aftercare advice to ensure your implants are well taken care of. It is crucial to follow these instructions diligently. Additionally, we will inform you of any follow-up appointments required to ensure the continued security and health of your implant.

How implants can help

  • Dental implants are titanium posts that are inserted into your jawbone to provide a stable base for a prosthetic crown. They are a highly effective and popular solution for anyone looking to restore their smile and improve their oral health.

  • Implants are topped with teeth that match the shade, shape, and size of your remaining teeth for a comfortable and natural feel.

  • Implants are a long-lasting, fixed solution that don't require removal for eating or sleeping, and won't fall out.

  • Missing teeth make it hard to eat certain foods. Dental implants restore your bite, allowing you to chew properly and enjoy your favourite foods.

  • Unlike some treatments to replace missing teeth, dental implants don’t require preparing any of your neighbouring, healthy teeth.

Eligibility and suitability

  • For successful implantation, it is important to use good-quality bone. Poor bone quality can result in implant failure. This is similar to the principle of putting a screw in the wall - if the screw doesn't grip the wall, it won't be able to support what it needs to. However, there are options available even with poor-quality bone, and it's important to note that the quality of the implant can also play a role in its success.

  • The implant needs to be surrounded by adequate thickness of bone. If you have ever seen a nail that was too close to the edge of the wood and caused the wood to break. The same thing can happen to an implant. Teeth move into the gaps after a tooth is lost. If so we can create space with orthodontic aligners.

  • Implants truly are remarkable. The way they seamlessly integrate with the body is nothing short of miraculous. However, this integration is in part due to the rough surface of the implant. If the implant is not properly cleaned, bacteria can accumulate on its surface, leading to implant failure. So, it is essential to consider this and maintain a zero-tolerance approach towards neglecting oral hygiene.

  • Having good overall health is a crucial factor for the success of dental implants. Diabetes is a common disease that increases the risk of implant failure. Additionally, smoking has been linked to an increased risk of implant failure, even in cases where the smoker is otherwise healthy. However, it is important to note that there is no blanket rule that prohibits individuals with health problems or smokers from getting implants. Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration individual health status. Therefore, it is highly recommended to schedule an appointment to discuss your health conditions with me.

  • Dental implant treatment can be one of the most expensive dental procedures we offer. However, we ensure that our prices are competitive without compromising on the quality of our services. We understand that the cost of treatment can sometimes be a barrier for patients seeking dental implants. To make it more affordable, we provide flexible finance packages that allow you to spread the cost over time.
