Questions

What is Sedation

Sedation is a highly effective method for inducing relaxation and soothing the nerves. With the administration of carefully selected drugs, patients can access the treatment they need with ease and comfort. The benefits of sedation are truly amazing, and it is an invaluable tool in the world of medicine.

Is it safe?

Sedation is not only a safe procedure, but it is also a preferred option over general anesthesia. Your well-being is our top priority, so our team closely monitors your vital signs during the procedure. We have made significant advancements in dosage control, the development of safer drugs, and improved training, making sedation a much safer option. Rest assured that we always have a consultant anaesthetist present to ensure your safety and comfort.

What drugs will you administer?

For sedation and pain relief, we primarily use Midazolam and sometimes supplement it with Alfentanyl. These medications are safe and administered under the close monitoring of a Consultant anaesthetist. In addition to sedation, we also use local anesthesia to ensure your comfort during the treatment. With this effective combination, your treatment can be completed smoothly and hassle-free.

Step 1: Assessment and planning to get your consent for the treatment you would want. No unpleasant surprises, just a chilled-out chat in our beautiful surgery to discuss all the fine details.
