The Bridge thats not too far

When you are missing teeth, a dental bridge can fill gap

A tried and tested solution to gaps. There are various bridge designs and types, but they all essentially use your existing teeth as an anchor, and allow a false tooth to ‘bridge’ the gap

Fixed bridge

The strongest bridge that is available. We drill your existing teeth down into a mini version of the tooth and then fix a newly made set of joined teeth onto it.

Adhesive Bridge

A bridge that involves little or no drilling. the false tooth is stuck onto the tooth with glue

FAQ’s

  • It depends on the reason and the longevity you want.

A fixed bridge can last 10-20 years when done appropriately. They look great, are quick to do, and are also cheaper than implants. The downsides are that you must sometime drill a tooth which didn't really need to be drilled. 1 in 5 teeth that get drilled for crowns or bridges have a problem down the line.

An Adhesive bridge is really only suited to the front of your mouth. In the right mouth and with good care, they can last a very long time. The further back in the mouth you go, the harder it gets to last long enough as your teeth bear more load. The pros are that there is little to no drilling and they are quick, easy to do and look great. The downsides are they can pop off at any time and you will have to visit our clinic to get it stuck back on.

  • Step 1:

Prepare the tooth/teeth, ensuring you are comfortable using local anaesthetic.

    Step 2:

We put in a temporary set of teeth, or you can continue with the gap for two weeks while we make the bridge, depending on your preference.

    Step 3:

Come back to the clinic and cement the bridge into your mouth

  • In most cases, there will be, but sometimes, there may not.

Suitable alternatives will be dentures or implants.

Fixing gaps can be complicated from a dentistry point of view, and I recommend an in-depth consultation to hone in on the options and the relative pros and cons.
