Royal treatment
Are you ready to transform your smile? Look no further than crowns and veneers - a magical solution that can give you a perfect set of teeth in no time!
Crowns
A dental crown is a cap that is placed over the entirety of a tooth to improve its appearance and protect it from further damage. Crowns are usually made of metal or porcelain and can be customized to match the color of your existing teeth, resulting in a natural-looking finish.
Veneers
Veneers are custom-made porcelain mouldings bonded to your teeth' front surface. They are versatile and can fix many dental problems, including stained, chipped, misshapen, or crooked teeth. They can even cover gaps in teeth where orthodontic treatment may not be desirable or suitable.
The best thing about veneers and crowns is that they are a cosmetic treatment that can create a natural-looking smile.
They can be used together to transform a smile
CROWN / VENEER PROS AND CONS
-
Whiter and more even teeth: Veneers can improve your smile’s appearance, giving you a more even and whiter smile.
-
A realistic, natural finish: Porcelain veneers mimic the light-reflecting qualities of teeth, providing a natural-looking result.
-
Veneers offer a long-lasting, cosmetic solution. They can last for over 10 years, if taken care of appropriately.
-
Porcelain veneers are more stain resistant and durable than composite bonding, for example, offering similar strength to a crown.
-
The enamel on the front of your teeth will need to be prepared (filed down) before having veneers placed. The enamel is the thin outer layer on a tooth’s surface. This means your teeth will be permanently altered.
-
In some cases, patients can experience increased sensitivity after having veneers fitted. If the sensitivity worsens your tooth may need root canal treatment or even removal
-
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
-
In the event that a veneer happens to break or chip, it would be ideal to replace the entire veneer instead of attempting a repair.
If you have heavily damaged or discoloured teeth, or if you have a root canal filling, a crown may be a better choice than a veneer. This is especially true if you have a strong bite or grind your teeth, as a crown can provide additional protection and durability for your teeth.
I can help you decide whether crowns or veneers will be best for changing the look of your tooth. They can both change its size, shape, and color.
The process
Step 1
Our first step is to create a plan. We use X-rays to ensure that the tooth is suitable for crowning or veneering. Next, we work closely with you to determine the desired color scheme, taking into account any input or photos you provide. If you're having multiple teeth crowned or veneered, we can even do a trial smile to give you a preview of the final result. This trial smile is completely reversible, so you can be confident in your decision before we move forward with the permanent treatment.
Step 2
After you have approved the trial smile, we proceed to prepare your teeth according to the plan. Once the preparations are complete, we take moulds or a scan of your teeth which we use to create the final products. While waiting for the final products to be made, you will wear temporary teeth.
Step 3
Once the products are returned, we will expertly bond them to your teeth, revealing a stunning new smile that is sure to leave the world in awe!
Step 4
Your smile is a reflection of the joy and positivity you bring to the world. So, after you've dazzled everyone with your pearly whites, keep the sparkle alive by maintaining excellent oral hygiene.
